Youth for Christ Winnipeg is looking for an energetic and enthusiastic individual to serve in The Edge Skatepark ministry as a Program Coordinator. Located at 333 King St, The Edge Skatepark is a safe and positive inline and skateboard park in downtown Winnipeg. The Edge Skatepark ministry serves to engage and equip youth to know and follow Jesus by providing a safe space for youth to skateboard, have fun, connect with peers and mentors, and to have the opportunity to learn about Jesus.

Our staff and volunteers host year round skate-sessions, create videos, run skate camps, operate a skate shop, hold events and competitions, organize skate trips, and collaborate with the wider skate community. A successful candidate for this position will recognize first and foremost that they will play a significant and vital role in the success of YFC Winnipeg; what you will do here will have an important impact on the young people who engage with the ministries at YFC. If you are passionate about helping others, and want to use your experience, skills, and knowledge to support the ministry of YFC in changing the lives of youth, then this may be the position for you.

Responsibilities
● Assist in developing and implementing engaging skateboarding programs and drop-in activities.
● Ensure youth are welcomed and connected with volunteers when they come to the skatepark.
● Plan events tailored to the needs of youth who love to skateboard.
● Supervise participants at the skatepark to ensure the rules of the park are being followed for their safety and well-being.
● Assist in ensuring all equipment is managed with care and stored appropriately.
● Recruit and equip volunteers as required.

Requirements
● Maintain a close, intimate relationship with God as a devoted follower of Jesus Christ.
● Be an active participant in the life of a local church.
● Affirm and support our organization’s Community Covenant and Statement of Faith, and be committed to YFC’s mission.
● Ability to plan safe skateboarding programs.
● Embrace YFC’s core values with a strong heart for evangelism.
● Strong communication, organizational and administrative skills.
● Take initiative, pay close attention to details, and be willing to adapt.
● Able to work well in a team as well as on your own.
● Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality.
