Youth for Christ Winnipeg is looking for a vibrant team of 24 individuals (male & female) to serve as Cabin Leaders at Camp Cedarwood. The Cabin Leaders will reside at the Camp, located at Pinawa Bay - Lac du Bonnet, Manitoba. Camp Cedarwood is a ministry of YFC Winnipeg that provides youth with a camp experience that is rooted in the Gospel with a focus on excellence, while allowing them to experience new and exciting opportunities through our programs and activities.

A successful candidate for this position will recognize first and foremost that they will play a significant and vital role in the success of Camp Cedarwood; what you will do here will have an important impact on the young people and guests who attend and enjoy Camp Cedarwood’s beautiful facility and setting. If you are passionate about helping others, and want to use your experience, skills, and knowledge to support the ministry of YFC in changing the lives of youth, then this may be the position for you.

Responsibilities

Supervise youth and guide them around camp in accordance with their daily schedule.
Support instructors during hands-on activities and assist in behavior management.
Oversee and manage cabin cleanliness, conduct a daily cabin inspection, and report any repairs that need to be made to the Maintenance Director.
Contribute to and work during evening programs.
Lead group recreational activities during cabin time and as needed.
Help with housekeeping responsibilities in preparation for upcoming camp week.
Instruct and lead assigned skill.

Requirements

Maintain a close, intimate relationship with God as a devoted follower of Jesus Christ.
Be an active participant in the life of a local church.
Affirm and support our organization’s Community Covenant and Statement of Faith, and be committed to YFC’s mission.
Embrace YFC’s core values with a strong heart for evangelism.
Able to live and work in a camp environment during part of the year while being flexible and patient in nature.
Experience working with youth in a supervisory capacity would be an asset.
Take initiative, pay close attention to details, and be willing to adapt.
Able to work well in a team as well as on your own.
