Youth for Christ Winnipeg is looking a Head Cook help to ensure our mission statement and operational values are fulfilled as it relates to welcoming, inviting and hosting guests at Camp Cedarwood (a Ministry Program of YFC Winnipeg). A successful candidate for this position will recognize first and foremost that they will play a significant and vital role in the success of Camp Cedarwood; what you will do here will have an important impact on the young people and guests who attend and enjoy Camp Cedarwood’s beautiful facility and setting. Reporting to Camp Cedarwood Kitchen Services Manager, the Head Cook will carry out the duties laid out for the scheduled shift(s), including ensuring meal preparation and cleanliness of the kitchen and dining room area are maintained for rental groups and retreats. You will be responsible to supervisor the kitchen staff and lead preparation and cooking of the meal(s) in compliance with provincial health Regulations. You will need to be available to work part-time and weekend hours. All staff at Camp Cedarwood have the responsibility for creating a welcoming atmosphere for all who enter our facility, responding to any special needs and services of our guests. You will have the gift of hospitality, a Servant heart, a strong work-ethic and will get along well with others. You will have a Food Handler’s Certificate (or being willing to obtain). A minimum of two years of kitchen experience would be an asset. You will have good organizational skills and be good with details. You will also be physically able to provide the food preparation and clean-up services. We are looking for someone with an outgoing, friendly and inviting personality. You will need to be able to work well in a team and on your own and will also need to be flexible and adapt quickly to manage multiple assignments.
